FWD STEEL CASTING

Alloy Steel (ASTM A148, GS-20Mn5)

Strength, hardenability and fatigue resistance for the hardest duty.

When carbon steel runs out of strength, alloy cast steels take over: girth gears, kiln support rollers, mill housings, press columns and any component where fatigue life and section hardenability decide service life.

Alloy grades are quenched and tempered in our computer-controlled gas furnaces, with hardness verified at multiple depth points on test coupons cast integrally with the component.

Our engineers routinely convert between ASTM A148, EN 10293, DIN 17182 and JIS G5111 — send the standard your project specifies and receive a compliant chemistry and heat-treatment plan.
